Your upcoming event or wedding will be one of the most important days of your life and planning a special event, wedding reception or rehearsal dinner for your day can seem formidable.
Here are just a few tips when planning your catering:
1. Book your catering company at least 3 months or more in advance, maybe sooner if it's June Wedding or near Holidays and other times where a catering company could be in demand.
2. About 1 month from your event plan to set down and have a detailed meeting to go over all details, have as much information about:
- Contact information of person in charge day of event- event coordinator, wedding planner, etc.
- Detailed directions to the event location with firm time for catering set up, when serving should start and when service will end.
- Find out if your event place requires proof of liability insurance from catering company to be faxed
- Any instructions on kitchen facilities, parking, clean up, etc.
- What colors do you want catering staff to wear- white shirts with black pants or black shirts with khaki pants, etc.
3. Try to anticipate a menu that will make as many as possible happy, but remember this is your day! As a suggestion if your do pork it's nice to have a 2nd meat such as chicken or beef, we even offer a smoked Tofu option for vegetarians.
4. Communicate any changes leading up the the event, to make sure your event goes as smooth as possible. You shouldn't have to worry about the catering! Enjoying your event is our goal.
